Hi, my name is Emerson Sena, I’m from Brazil but now I live here in Orem, Utah, United States and I want to share with you a bit of experience I had in my life. When I was a little kid, I always had questions about my existence, about my life, why I’m here and others and where we came from? And what’s gonna happen after we die? So I remember joining the Catholic Church as a small kid and I loved going to help and learn and sing. But still I had questions – Why are we here?

I remember my biggest question was: Where are the prophets, where are the apostles? We didn’t have them anymore. So I stayed for a long time in the church, still having my questions. So when I got to Tunisia, I became a surfer so I started to the beach and surf and stopped going to the church. And I remember there was a guy called Elson and he went to surf every day, but on Sunday. And so, I was wondering about it. So one day I asked “Elson, why you don’t come to surf on Sunday?” And he said “Because I’m a Mormon”. And that was interesting. And I said “What’s a Mormon?”

So he starts telling me about Mormons, about their beliefs. And then he gave me a job offer to work for him. And he kept teaching me and letting me know about the church and one day he said “Do you want to meet the missionaries?” And I said “What’s that?” And he said “Two young men – they teach about the church, they answer the questions.” And I said “Yes, bring them.”

And it was interesting because the first day we met, they asked me “Do you know why you are here?” And I said no. Then they asked “Do you know what’s gonna happen after you die, about your family, your mom and dad, your kids, the future?” And I realized I didn’t know and then they explained to me that God had a plan for my life.

The third time we met they told me the church had a prophet today, had apostles today. It was really interesting. And they gave me a book – The book of Mormon. I read some parts, went home. And by the end of the book, I had a promised that said “If you want to know about yourself, open your heart and ask God. And if you do that, you will know by the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost”. So that night I prayed and I fell asleep after that, I remember and I heard a voice. I don’t know, in my dreams, maybe. And it says “Son, follow that path that will guide you unto me”.

So then I decided to be baptized and the next day we met, I said, Elders – I want to be a member of this church. I have found what I was looking for. So October 1992 I was baptized and since that day, my life has changed for better. Now I know who I am, I know God’s my father, I know after this life, I can go back to live with him, with my family, my friends. It’s something really special with me that I want to share with you. And sometime, if you have the same questions, the desire to know – go look for some member of the church, go look for some missionaries. I’m sure they’re gonna help you to find for yourself as I found by myself.

I’m brother Ed Jelly Pinegar and I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a testimony of the lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Redeemer. He is the foundation and rock of my life. He is the foundation of the Church. He is the chief cornerstone. I bear witness to you that we are Christians. We are members of his Church that he has founded and restored in these, the Latter Days through the prophet Joseph Smith, April 6th in 1830. The church was begun in this dispensation.

With the coming forth of the truthfulness of the Gospel, to the Book of Mormon, the truth was once again restored here on Earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, translated by the gift and power of God, by the prophet Joseph Smith. I testify to you that the Book of Mormon is true. It is wonderful. It will lead you to happiness and joy here on Earth. Joseph Smith is indeed a prophet. Once you read the Book of Mormon, you will know that Jesus is the Christ. Joseph Smith was the prophet and this is the true church. The Book of Mormon is indeed the word of God.

We are led by living prophets today. Even president Gordon B. Hinckley who stands as a witness for Christ and as a prophet, seer and revelator. Indeed, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ restored again here upon the Earth after the long, dark time of apostasy. I testify to you that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ and the book of Mormon is the word of God. And it has the Gospel of Jesus Christ within its pages and it, the Gospel, is the foundation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

And you can come to know that this is true too. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I pray with all my heart that you will take the time to read and study, ponder and pray over the Book of Mormon. And once you do that, you too will know that this is true. May the Lord bless you in your pursuit of truth and happiness.

I bear witness of these things, humbly and in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hey everybody. So this is my testimony for December 27th, 2009. This is because it changed with time. I believe that there is a God. I believe that we existed before this life. I believe that we came here to gain a body and to be tested and I believe that we live in God’s presence. I believe that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins. I believe that if we lived by the Gospel and serve others and do what’s right, we can overcome the natural man and be perfected in Christ that we may live with him again and have eternal life.

I also believe that there is – actually, I won’t go that deep – I believe that the true Church was restored on the Earth and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it’s true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that Thomas S. Monson is the current prophet and I believe that – I don’t know, there’s a lot to believe so I might not get into that.

But I believe that we’re here on this earth to be tested. And everybody makes mistakes, nobody is perfect and God knew that. That’s why he sent his only begotten son that he could die for our sins so that we can be forgiven and we can return and live with him again. But only if we work on it. That’s basically the beliefs of the LDS Church and they’re also my beliefs. So I am LDS. I’m Mormon, as some may call it, but I try not to be judgmental. I know that Mormons have a reputation of being judgmental but I really try not to be judgmental. You know, you have to draw the line somewhere. I’m not gonna surround myself with bad influence but I’m not gonna judge somebody, I’m not gonna hate somebody just because of their lifestyle.

Question of the day: Do you believe God exists? Yes or no answers. Don’t start flaming wars – if you don’t know what that is, Google it.

Hi, my name is Ricardo from Arizona and I felt like I should speak out something that I felt very important to me, something that is very dear and close to my heart. And what inspired this video, I guess is I heard once an apostle – they were giving a talk at the DYU. They said that we should share our testimonies with anybody. So that’s what I’m here to do, that’s what this video is here for.

I’m going to share my testimony and share eternal truths that I have, by the power of the Holy Ghost, come to know too. First I’d like to testify of the Book of Mormon. I know that it’s true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I know that the Bible is the word of God as well. I’m so grateful for the Book of Mormon because it adds so much light and so much knowledge, it helps right my understanding, it helps me draw closer to the Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of God and I know that, through the power of God, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith one day read in James, the first chapter, 5th verse and he talks about if we lack knowledge, we can ask God. God is there to answer. He is going to answer, we just have to open the door and Jesus will come into our lives. I’m so grateful of what Joseph Smith did. He asked the Father in Heaven which Church he should join and that led him to give inspiration and I’m so grateful for that.

I know that Joseph Smith restored the Church of Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom once again established on Earth. And it’s a church – it really has been organized by Jesus Christ. The organization itself is perfect.

I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the Earth today. I know that he has all the priesthood keys. I know that he is being led by our father in heaven, that he is being led by Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ came down among us and suffered for our sins. I know that the power of the atonement really works. I used to think that the atonement was something that only really wicked people needed. But I’ve quickly come to find out that the atonement is really for each and every one of us. I know that none of us are perfect. The only perfect one was Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for Jesus Christ and his eternal sacrifice. I’m so grateful that I’ve come to this knowledge.

I know that Jesus Christ, on the third day, rose from the tomb and I know that he lives today, he lives in Heaven with our Father. I am grateful that I have such loving parents that guide me and help me with my troubles and my hardships and my triumphs, no matter how hard they may seem or how simple they may be. The temples are a very sacred place. They are a very god way to draw closer to our father in Heaven. I am very grateful for temples because they have a tendency to draw you to think about the eternal happiness.

I know that I’m a child of God. I know that I was created in the image of God. I know that I am a spirit child of our heavenly Father. I know that he has so much love for me, as his child. I know that there is so much love that he send my elder brother, Jesus Christ to die for me on the cross and suffer in the garden of Gethsemane. I know that I am of infinite worth and that I have potential to become like my heavenly father. To become as even as he is. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

My name is Susan Easton Black. I’m a professor in religion in Brigham Young University. I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized at age 8 by my father and during the time I was growing up, my grandmother lived in our home. Her job, among many other responsibilities was to make sure that I went to sleep. She would tell me stories at night and she would tell me stories about a man named Joseph Smith. Stories about people in the Book of Mormon and about pioneers…

The stories I had remembered the most were about pioneers, particularly about my own ancestors. I remember her telling me about a young girl that crossed the plains, escaped from religious persecution and arrived in the Salk Lake Valley with gunny sacks on her feet. My grandmother asked me: Would you have done that? And my comment was “No, what if someone had seen me?” And suddenly, my grandma said “She had faith and you don’t”.

Now, I actually took that as a challenge. And I suppose the challenge is still on. As a young girl I would read scriptures with the flashlight in bed when it was told that lights should go off. I would read such books as The history of Joseph Smith, by his mother Lucy Smith. I would read books like The Autobiography of Parley P. Pratt – one of the great apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

And it was not long that I began to realize that I was reading to write. Through the process, I’ve written many, many books and several of them now on a man named Joseph Smith. Through that process I’ve learned some very interesting things. I’ve learned that from the time of his youthful utterance, there in the Palmira Woods in the spring of 1820, to his manly cry in the Jail at Carthage – that Joseph Smith was all that he said he was. That he was truly called by God to be a prophet, much like other prophets that have walked the Earth such as Moses, Isaiah, Elijah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Now if you were to say: What do I think about his teaching? He teaches us about God the Father. That God the Father loves us and that we are his children. He teaches us about Jesus Christ. We learn about Christ through the Holy Bible. But, in addition, as a member of the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I learned about Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon. I decided to make a most unusual study of that book – it was actually a simple process. But I went through the book and underlined every time the name of Christ appeared. I found that there were, on an average, on every 1.7 verses, the name of Christ appeared. If you were to compare that to the New Testament, on an average, every 2.1 verses has the name of Christ.

If you were to say just 5 word count of long – which Scripture was the best witness for Jesus Christ? Hands down, it’s the Book of Mormon. Now what’s been so interesting to me is that as life has gone on, I pursued a doctorate and was fortunate enough to be a professor. For 30 years now I’ve been a professor at Brigham Young University. During these years I’ve had an opportunity to teach many subjects. My most favourite has always been about the life of Joseph Smith. I had a chance to read primary sources. I had a chance to travel where Joseph travelled. To literally live at times, where he’s lived.

I’ve seen people who have said “I don’t think Joseph’s a prophet. I really like your church, I like the idea that families can be together forever. I like the idea of being morally clean and not smoking and not drinking. But it’s that Joseph Smith that I struggle with”. I then say to them – Without Joseph Smith, the prophet of restoration, all the things you say you like about our church, it just wouldn’t happen. Because Joseph was a prophet, because of Joseph Smith, I know that my husband has the authority to act in the name of God. That when I’m sick, he can give me a blessing. I also know that my husband, because he has the authority to act in the name of God, that he has the right to arraign our children to various priesthood offices. I joyed when my son became a deacon, when he became an Elder and I’m forever grateful for their lives. And more especially, for the life of my great husband.

I also know that because of Joseph Smith, I’ve been privileged to be sealed to my husband for all time and all eternity. You know, as time passes and you get older, we know that we have the privilege to be together forever. Now, the question is, wouldn’t you like that for yourself too? Wouldn’t you like to know that you have the right to call on the Heavenly Father that you can kneel in prayer? Wouldn’t you like the blessing of knowing that you have the priesthood in your home, that you had somebody in your home that loved you and that was worthy to act in the name of our Father in Heaven? Well, I feel most blessed. If you were to ask how I feel about the prophet Joseph Smith – I love his memory. I love what he taught. I’m always overwhelmed by his sacrifice. I am overwhelmed by his statement that he could not deny it and he would not, less it would come in accommodation with God.

I will be forever grateful for a man named Joseph Smith. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord’s church upon the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I also know that the men have succeeded him as presidents of the church are also prophets of God. It is my hope that you will take the time to read the Book of Mormon, to find out the Mormon Church in your area, to pray and ask the Father in Heaven if the Book of Mormon is true. I testify that if you will do these things with sincerity and be humble, that you will find greater joy and happiness in this life than you had ever imagined.

Hello. My name is Randy. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days or the Mormons, as a lot of people call us. I wanna share with you today my personal knowledge of God, our Heavenly Father and of his Son, Jesus Christ.

I have a personal testimony that we have a father in heaven who loves us very much. I know that he knows each one of us, individually by name. And I know that he takes a personal interest in our daily lives because we are all his children. I know that he loves us so much that he is willing to send his holy Son, our Savior, down to the earth to share the wonderful tidings of the Gospel.

Jesus Christ is our Savior – he walked the earth and taught his Gospel to help us to learn and know all the things we need to do in this life that we might find joy and happiness now, today. Through his Gospel we can also know those things we need to do and the ordinances we need to receive in order to return home and to live with him and our Heavenly Father again.

I know that Jesus died on the cross and in doing so, he took upon him all of our sins. I also know that he was resurrected. That he lives today and that because of his resurrection, any one of us will be resurrected and have the opportunity to receive immortality. I also know that we can all receive eternal life. But this only comes as we accept the Gospel, receive the Gospel oridnances and live the Gospel faithfully to the end of our lives.

We can have true joy and happiness right now. And despite what’s going on in the world, we live in some turbulent times and what a wonderful thing it is to have that knowledge. I know all of these things by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the testifier of truth. Through the Holy Ghost we feel piece in our hearts. When we feel that peace, love, hope, courage, faith, we can know that the things we are hearing and listening to and learning come from God, come from our Heavenly Father.

The invitation from Christ that he gave anciently to come unto him is still valid today. I share this testimony with you now in the hopes that you have a desire to learn more of him, to come unto Christ and to receive rest unto your soul now and to receive eternal happiness forever. I share this testimony with you and give you this invitation in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Allan: I’m Allan Wilfred. I work on motorcycles for a living off road with my family.

Laura: I’m Laura Wilfred and I love to cook all kinds of cuisines and I also do design. Allan is just adorable. He doesn’t look adorable, but he’s adorable. When you look at Allen with the choppers on the side and he’s this big, burly guy.

Allan: Boy, Laura’s quite the gal. To describe her – she’s 100+ miles an hour. I’m pretty happy to go 55 or 60.

Laura: He’s giving himself credit – he’s like 30. He is such a sweet teddy bear. He cries more than I do.

Allan: I worked at a grocery store for 15 years and I really didn’t like the white shirt and tie thing and finally quit and opened up a little body shop. It’s a great carrier – something I love to do.

Laura: I got married very young, right out of high school and it was a bad marriage right from the beginning. I knew, I just needed to change my life.

Alan: My first marriage, I was married for 15 years to a wonderful gal. And I started making a few bad choices. I started drinking, started drinking a little more and I messed our marriage up. You know, 100% my fault. And of course, we got divorced and I hated myself, I hated myself for what I did to my family.

Laura: Lucky there’s life after divorce and good life after divorce. I met Allan.

Allan: The day I met her was a Sunday morning, I had a hangover, as usual. And boy, I think I fell in love with her in a matter of seconds – head over heels. Absolutely crazy in love with her. And she must have been really blind because she fell in love with me too. The day I met her, that Sunday morning was… it’s been 20 years ago. It was the last I ever drank and that’s an amazing thing to me cause I tried to quit a lot of times. She got me back on the right track. There’s never a second that goes by in a day that I don’t think about that. I’ll be eternally thankful to God for giving me another chance.

Laura: He helped me understand what a real relationship is about and I’m so grateful for him, for saving my life.

Allan: I’m Allan Wilfred.

Laura: My name is Laura Wilfred and I’m a mom.

Allan: I’m a father, I’m a husband.

Laura: I’m a chef.

Allan: I’m an off-road enthusiast.

Laura: I’m a goer.

Allan: I’ve been sober for 20 years.

Laura: I just love life!

Allan: I grow funny mustaches.

Laura: And I’m a Mormon.

Allan: And I’m a Mormon.
