I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ is true because one day I woke and wanted something different. I don’t know what it was. It was a feeling inside my heart and I went to watch TV. I didn’t write all of these things but this is what I wanted to read to you guys, so I can tell you at the same time I knew something wasn’t right that day that I got up. And it was just so sad, I didn’t write all of this, but I wanted to tell you and so that you can record it.

It just was like this weird feeling that I knew that I was lost – you know what I’m saying? Like I couldn’t find my way home, it was the strangest… I just wanted different. This was not it. I felt confused, lost and I was in my own home but I felt like I needed to go home. You see what I’m saying? It was crazy.

So I got up and turned the TV on and there was this guy on TV, his name is Joel Olstein, I don’t know if you ever seen him before. But he’s a pastor that does TV type of deal from Huston, Texas. And he has like the friendliest eyes ever. But that same day, I sat and I listened. So the guy came on and I normally would change, but today the church channel was really holding me to not change it. And I sat there and I listened and then I started crying. I wanted to feel the feeling that I felt that moment when I started crying and I was listening to his words. Cause he was reading from the Bible, he was doing Scriptures. And I was feeling him – the words meant something different this time when he was reading.

So I wanted to feel like that in that moment. And when he quoted, I wanted to hear more. So I began to pray. And I prayed like my life depended on it. And then he said to find a good Bible-based church. He always says that at the end of the show. And then, at this point, I’m starting to ponder. I’m crying and pondering on that I needed to find a good church. Is that what’s wrong with me? I need to find a good church.

But I thought about it and who really wants to be around a bunch of pushy people in your life? Who needs that? I was sitting, thinking about that thought and there was someone knocking at my door. And at that moment I dried my tears up and I peeped out the window and I saw what I thought was some Jehovah’s Witnesses. So what I said was “Jehovah’s Witnesses? Darn!” – that isn’t what I said.

So I looked up, right before I opened the door and I said “Christ, I asked you for a sign, but you sent them!” And so I opened the door with no clothes on and tears on my face and a nasty attitude. But then, a sister said “Nicole, how are you?” and I’m looking like this. She says “Are you doing okay, sister Nicole?” And I knew at that moment, when I looked at her face when she said that, I just had to unlock the door. I knew Heavenly Father had sent her, at that moment.

I needed a sister and kind spirit, a person to listen to me. Tell me the directions to the nearest temple – and that was her. That, on the other hand, the view from my bedroom is the Mormon temple. Every day and every night. He is watching me from up the hill. So I’ve been curious for a while about the temple, I just never really pushed it, you know? And he sent the right people to me. So we prayed, me and the sister that day and I learned about the right Gospel, the right one.

Day one, I felt like I found what I’ve been seeking. And prayed for the truth and the real, not fake people to be around me. And you bet, I cried, but everyone there is real. They are nice and decent people. And my real fellow brethren. I feel complete now and a little scared because my prayers are being answered and that’s not normal for me. The more I learn and pray and follow the commandments, my life has been improving in such a short time that I was wondering where has this church been my whole life. Right up the hill. At the very top, right out my barren window, lid up every night like Motel 6, the light is always on. And now that’s in my heart.

I just wasn’t listening or really looking in the right direction. So my sisterhood and my sister prayed with me and I started a new life that day and never looked back. Pushing forward and enduring to the end. He is the Life and the Light to the world. A light that is endless and can’t ever be darkened. And also, a life which is endless that there can be no more death. Even this mortal shall put on and flip on immortality and this corruption has put on incorruption and shall be brought to stand before the bar of God to be judged of him, according to their words.

Thank you sister, you taught me that. And you awakened my love to read again. I haven’t read anything in 2 years. Now I’m reading 4 books at once. The Book of Mormon, D&C, True to the Faith and a little bit of Gospel Principles. I love my new family and my new life. So that’s how I came to know that the church was true and that the Gospel is really real. And you can’t tell me any different. And I say this in the name of my saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hi, my name is Lindsay. My screen name is Aurey, here on YouTube. I’m a member of the Mormon Church, formally called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or LDS for short. I forgot that I can bear my testimony freely here in America and so, I feel I have a responsibility to share what I believe and I really want to in the first place.

So first of all, I want to bear testimony about the Father and Jesus Christ. I know that the Heavenly Father is the father of my Spirit and he loves me and he knows my name. He knows the names of all his children here on earth and he loves all of them with an infinite, eternal and perfect love. I know that Jesus Christ is God’s son. He came to Earth to provide us a way to repent so that we may return and live forever with the Heavenly Father again in Heaven.

I know that through the atonement he provided the means for repentance so we can repent and become clean. When Jesus suffered the atonement, he made us accountable for our own sins and made it possible for us to become clean through repenting and through keeping his commandments. I believe that by keeping his commandments and trying to become perfect like him “And David prayed to the Father in Jesus’ name – we are blessed and we are cleansed from our sins”.

I believe in the Holy Ghost as a third member of the God head. The comfort that Jesus has sent to us to guide us and inspire us to do his will. The Holy Ghost warns us when we’re in bad situations or when we are in danger and he fills us with guilt when we do commit sins or when we do which is wrong. He also fills us with warmth and joy when we make the right decisions, when we chose to keep the commandments and to love, uplift and inspire others. I know that he also helps us to know what is right and to know what is worthy so that we might make the best of our time and that we might be happy, might help others to be happy and follow our lord Jesus Christ. I know that the Holy Ghost guides us in this way and he helps to fill the love that God and his son have for us.

I bear a firm testimony of Joseph Smith who, as a 14 year old boy went into a grove of trees in New York in 1820 and he prayed that he might be forgiven of his sins and that he might know what church he should join, which is the true church. And I know that then, God the Father and the Son appeared to him and taught him what was right and at that time, the right church was not on the earth. I know that he was given a golden plate that was written by ancient people in America and these, he translated to make the Book of Mormon which is another testament, teaching us that Jesus Christ is our savior and our redeemer.

I know that the Book of Mormon is true and I know that Joseph Smith reorganized the true church of Jesus Christ, with the power of the priesthood restored. Which power had been lost after all of Jesus’ apostles have died. I know that after Joseph Smith, there was a succession of true, living prophets down until this present day, right now, in the year 2008, we have president Thomas S. Monson who is now the prophet and leader of our church. I know that he is in an inspired man, he receives revelations from the lord. And the twelve apostles that serve with him are also called of God and also seers and revelators.

One second. Okay. I also believe that the Bible contains the word of God and prophecies of Jesus Christ. I also have a testimony for all the modern-day revelations given by our prophets today and from Joseph Smith’s time until now. And they give these revelations through things like general conferences, a sort of conference that Mormons have twice a year in April and October. And also, at other venues than these – such as a general statement, like the proclamation of the family or the pamphlet of Jesus, the Christ – all these are also inspired.

I know that all of these things help improve my life and I know that they are all true. I happily bear testimony of my Church and of The Book Of Mormon and of The Bible and the modern day prophets of today, our prophet Thomas S. Monson. I believe in our father God, the father and his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost – that the three of them work to help us become clean that we might live forever, have eternal life with our father in heaven. I feel so blessed to know of my older brother Jesus and of his eternal love for me. I’m so grateful for this knowledge and all the blessings I’ve seen in my life because of it.

So I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Man: I always believed that there’s a supreme Creator and we’re here because of that Supreme Creator. But when life actually gets so hard that there’s no food, there’s no other things, you feel like that Supreme Creator actually forgot about you. I felt that if God is truly the Father of Heaven, that created us, he should allow us to know the answers to life’s questions that allow us to have peace of mind and have hope in life.

In mid-1998 when I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I was taught by a couple of young men. We call them missionaries. We had good discussions, we talked about life, we talked about spirituality, life before you come to earth, life after earth and I had a wonderful time asking questions, things that have never made sense to me before and were answered by these two young men. And the most amazing thing I learned was that the Supreme Creator is still there and he loves us so much, he wants us to know his plan and be able to live that plan long enough to prepare us to return to him again and to have a better life.

I actually have a very good relationship with this Supreme Creator, which is who we call God. He loves me very much and the more I know about him, the more I’m convinced that he loves me, that he has some good things and good plans for me to do in this life and then, better yet, he has a better plan for me after this life.

Man:Ki was born in Laos. He met and married his wife in Australia. Today, they and their 5 children live in Oakdale, Minnesota. He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in July, 1998.
