I remember my biggest question was: Where are the prophets, where are the apostles? We didn’t have them anymore. So I stayed for a long time in the church, still having my questions. So when I got to Tunisia, I became a surfer so I started to the beach and surf and stopped going to the church. And I remember there was a guy called Elson and he went to surf every day, but on Sunday. And so, I was wondering about it. So one day I asked “Elson, why you don’t come to surf on Sunday?” And he said “Because I’m a Mormon”. And that was interesting. And I said “What’s a Mormon?”

So he starts telling me about Mormons, about their beliefs. And then he gave me a job offer to work for him. And he kept teaching me and letting me know about the church and one day he said “Do you want to meet the missionaries?” And I said “What’s that?” And he said “Two young men – they teach about the church, they answer the questions.” And I said “Yes, bring them.”

And it was interesting because the first day we met, they asked me “Do you know why you are here?” And I said no. Then they asked “Do you know what’s gonna happen after you die, about your family, your mom and dad, your kids, the future?” And I realized I didn’t know and then they explained to me that God had a plan for my life.

The third time we met they told me the church had a prophet today, had apostles today. It was really interesting. And they gave me a book – The book of Mormon. I read some parts, went home. And by the end of the book, I had a promised that said “If you want to know about yourself, open your heart and ask God. And if you do that, you will know by the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost”. So that night I prayed and I fell asleep after that, I remember and I heard a voice. I don’t know, in my dreams, maybe. And it says “Son, follow that path that will guide you unto me”.

So then I decided to be baptized and the next day we met, I said, Elders – I want to be a member of this church. I have found what I was looking for. So October 1992 I was baptized and since that day, my life has changed for better. Now I know who I am, I know God’s my father, I know after this life, I can go back to live with him, with my family, my friends. It’s something really special with me that I want to share with you. And sometime, if you have the same questions, the desire to know – go look for some member of the church, go look for some missionaries. I’m sure they’re gonna help you to find for yourself as I found by myself.

It just was like this weird feeling that I knew that I was lost – you know what I’m saying? Like I couldn’t find my way home, it was the strangest… I just wanted different. This was not it. I felt confused, lost and I was in my own home but I felt like I needed to go home. You see what I’m saying? It was crazy.

So I got up and turned the TV on and there was this guy on TV, his name is Joel Olstein, I don’t know if you ever seen him before. But he’s a pastor that does TV type of deal from Huston, Texas. And he has like the friendliest eyes ever. But that same day, I sat and I listened. So the guy came on and I normally would change, but today the church channel was really holding me to not change it. And I sat there and I listened and then I started crying. I wanted to feel the feeling that I felt that moment when I started crying and I was listening to his words. Cause he was reading from the Bible, he was doing Scriptures. And I was feeling him – the words meant something different this time when he was reading.

So I wanted to feel like that in that moment. And when he quoted, I wanted to hear more. So I began to pray. And I prayed like my life depended on it. And then he said to find a good Bible-based church. He always says that at the end of the show. And then, at this point, I’m starting to ponder. I’m crying and pondering on that I needed to find a good church. Is that what’s wrong with me? I need to find a good church.

But I thought about it and who really wants to be around a bunch of pushy people in your life? Who needs that? I was sitting, thinking about that thought and there was someone knocking at my door. And at that moment I dried my tears up and I peeped out the window and I saw what I thought was some Jehovah’s Witnesses. So what I said was “Jehovah’s Witnesses? Darn!” – that isn’t what I said.

So I looked up, right before I opened the door and I said “Christ, I asked you for a sign, but you sent them!” And so I opened the door with no clothes on and tears on my face and a nasty attitude. But then, a sister said “Nicole, how are you?” and I’m looking like this. She says “Are you doing okay, sister Nicole?” And I knew at that moment, when I looked at her face when she said that, I just had to unlock the door. I knew Heavenly Father had sent her, at that moment.

I needed a sister and kind spirit, a person to listen to me. Tell me the directions to the nearest temple – and that was her. That, on the other hand, the view from my bedroom is the Mormon temple. Every day and every night. He is watching me from up the hill. So I’ve been curious for a while about the temple, I just never really pushed it, you know? And he sent the right people to me. So we prayed, me and the sister that day and I learned about the right Gospel, the right one.

Day one, I felt like I found what I’ve been seeking. And prayed for the truth and the real, not fake people to be around me. And you bet, I cried, but everyone there is real. They are nice and decent people. And my real fellow brethren. I feel complete now and a little scared because my prayers are being answered and that’s not normal for me. The more I learn and pray and follow the commandments, my life has been improving in such a short time that I was wondering where has this church been my whole life. Right up the hill. At the very top, right out my barren window, lid up every night like Motel 6, the light is always on. And now that’s in my heart.

I just wasn’t listening or really looking in the right direction. So my sisterhood and my sister prayed with me and I started a new life that day and never looked back. Pushing forward and enduring to the end. He is the Life and the Light to the world. A light that is endless and can’t ever be darkened.And also, a life which is endless that there can be no more death. Even this mortal shall put on and flip on immortality and this corruption has put on incorruption and shall be brought to stand before the bar of God to be judged of him, according to their words.

Thank you sister, you taught me that. And you awakened my love to read again. I haven’t read anything in 2 years. Now I’m reading 4 books at once. The Book of Mormon, D&C, True to the Faith and a little bit of Gospel Principles. I love my new family and my new life. So that’s how I came to know that the church was true and that the Gospel is really real. And you can’t tell me any different. And I say this in the name of my saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

With the coming forth of the truthfulness of the Gospel, to the Book of Mormon, the truth was once again restored here on Earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, translated by the gift and power of God, by the prophet Joseph Smith. I testify to you that the Book of Mormon is true. It is wonderful. It will lead you to happiness and joy here on Earth. Joseph Smith is indeed a prophet. Once you read the Book of Mormon, you will know that Jesus is the Christ. Joseph Smith was the prophet and this is the true church. The Book of Mormon is indeed the word of God.

We are led by living prophets today. Even president Gordon B. Hinckley who stands as a witness for Christ and as a prophet, seer and revelator. Indeed, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ restored again here upon the Earth after the long, dark time of apostasy. I testify to you that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ and the book of Mormon is the word of God. And it has the Gospel of Jesus Christ within its pages and it, the Gospel, is the foundation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

And you can come to know that this is true too. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I pray with all my heart that you will take the time to read and study, ponder and pray over the Book of Mormon. And once you do that, you too will know that this is true. May the Lord bless you in your pursuit of truth and happiness.

I have read this book many times and I testify that this book is true. I have the same feelings when I read the Book of Mormon as I do when I read the Bible. They both testify of God – that he does live, that we are His children, that He cares about us and that He sent a savior into the World – Jesus Christ so that we may repent and return to Him, into His presence one day. I know that this Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is led by a living prophet. I also know that this Church holds the keys of the priesthood which is the authority of God given to man so that we may operate, according to his will.

I am happy that the Church has been restored and I invite everybody who sees this video to investigate the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Now Joseph Smith, when he was 14, he went into a grove and he knelt down to pray to find out which church to join. And in doing so, he had a vision. And in this vision, he saw the Heavenly Father and he saw Jesus Christ. And they spoke to him and told him not to join any church. He would later go on to meet an angel by the name of Moroni. And he was told where there were some golden plates buried in the ground. And he took these golden plates and he translated them into what we have now – The Book of Mormon.

And on the plates was information about the people who lived on the North and South American continents. Now Jesus, when he was resurrected, he came to Jerusalem and other areas around there and showed himself to his apostles and to others. And he said “Other sheep I have which are not of this fold”. And that’s in the book of John, in the Bible. Now, I believe that the other sheep were the people over on this continent. So when he came over to this continent, the people saw him and were excited and they kept a record of it. And they wrote it down.

And that was part of what was on the plates that Joseph Smith translated. This is my message today. And I bear my testimony to you that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and it’s the one and only true church on the earth today. That Joseph Smith is a prophet, that the Book of Mormon is true and that Jesus Christ is the son of God and I say this in his holy name. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
